The first volume published in 2005 told the story of Porsche?s attempts to score outright victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours. This is the follow-up. From 1972 to 1981 Porsche capitalised on its investment. First of all, with an up-dated 908 and then in a more glorious fashion with the 936 Turbo that won the 24 Hours three times ending the era of the tubular chassis. The era was marked by the duels with Renault and Rondeau and the exploits of Jacky Ickx, Jurgen Barth and Bob Wollek.
