En 1964, Michel Nourry, apprenti mécanicien de dix-huit ans, prend son premier départ en compétition, en motocross. Après une demi-heure de course, le jeune pilote pulvérise sa "BSA Gold Star". Quarante ans et quelque mille courses plus tard, le Team Nourry Compétition est couronné champion de France GT des circuits. Ce livre raconte l'histoire et l'ascension de Michel Nourry et de ses pilotes. Après cinq années de motocross, Michel se lance dans le rallye, d'abord sur Mini, puis dès 1973 sur Porsche : il entame un mariage d'amour et de raison avec la 911, qui dure encore aujourd'hui. Sa notoriété de pilote et de préparateur lui amène de nombreux clients et pilotes, qui deviennent les hommes à battre partout où ils se présentent dans le Grand Ouest. Après vingt ans de rallyes et près de cent trente victoires (scratch, classe, groupe), il entame une nouvelle carrière en circuit, d'abord seul en Carrera Cup, puis rejoint par des jeunes pilotes dont il lance la carrière : Campbell, Goueslard (futur champion du monde N/GT), Moullin-Traffort... Depuis dix ans, il cumule les fonctions de préparateur, directeur d'écurie et pilote, attirant le respect de tous. C'est en grande partie grâce à son sens de la tactique de course qu'il fait triompher son équipage Soulan-Goueslard au championnat de France GT 2002. Mais ce n'est qu'une étape : après trois cent quatre-vingts courses en circuit, couronnées par cinquante victoires - sans compter tous les podiums de 2e et 3e places ! -, l'appétit de Michel est toujours intact, et son goût pour les challenges aussi fort qu'à ses débuts il y a quarante ans.
