                    [sinopsis_editor] => Nell'ormai lontano 1988 fu inaugurato il Mondiale Superbike riservato alle così dette "derivate di serie", vale a dire moto di alte prestazioni "normalmente" destinate alla strada, che scendevano per la prima volta in pista sfidandosi in un vero e proprio Campionato. Fu l'americano Fred Merkel ad aggiudicarsi le prime due edizioni, nel 1988 e nel 1989 in sella alla Honda. Seguì un triennio targato Ducati con i successi di Raymond Roche nel 1990 e con i due titoli di Doug Polen nel '91-92. Negli anni a seguire brillarono fra gli altri i nomi di Carl Fogarty, Troy Corser, Colin Edwards e Troy Bayliss in sella a modelli altrettanto mitici sui quali, negli stessi anni, gareggiò anche Pier Francesco Chili, forse il pilota italiano più noto nel Superbike prima dell'avvento di Biaggi e Melandri. Questi 25 anni rivivono per la prima volta in un volume ufficiale che, anno dopo anno, ripercorre la storia tecnica, sportiva e umana di ogni singolo campionato raccontato dai sempre puntuali testi di Claudio Porrozzi e soprattutto corredato dalle spettacolari immagini del fratello Fabrizio, da anni fotografo ufficiale del Mondiale SBK. Non mancano classifiche e statistiche a completare un volume che si annuncia sicuro punto di riferimento per tutti gli appassionati.
