Vittorio Brambilla è stato l’ultimo dei piloti romantici. Non importa se alla guida di una moto o di un kart, di una F3, F2, F1 o di un Prototipo. Lui correva per soddisfare la passione di correre e aveva imparato bene a correre: riusciva spesso ad andare più forte degli avversari che disponevano di mezzi tecnici e finanziari superiori ai suoi. Lui correva per quello che era: un uomo coraggioso ma non propenso al rischio, un pilota passionale ma anche sensibile e capace tecnicamente.
Vittorio la velocità ce l’aveva nel sangue. L’agognato traguardo della F1 se l’era guadagnato col sudore di tanti anni di gavetta, fatta su tutte le piste d’Europa e con vetture non sempre all’altezza ma sempre con la consapevolezza tipica delle persone semplici e generose che sanno di poter arrivare. E ci è riuscito. Anche se avrebbe meritato ben altro risultato.
Mancava un libro tutto da leggere su “Vittorione”, un volume che pone l’accento sulle sue incomparabili doti umane che valgono più di qualsiasi traguardo. Una raccolta di immagini per lo più inedite completa questo preziosa testimonianza sull’automobilismo e le corse di un tempo.
