Two dramatic years in the history of the TT. Mike Hailwood was awesome in 1961 and even formidable riders such as Rhodesian Gary Hocking on his MV Agusta couldn't defeat the Oxford rider, who crowned his week with a 100 mph average speed for the Senior race.
Two years later in 1963 Phil Read and John Hartle on the Scuderia Duke Gileras, pitted their skills against the MV now ridden by Hailwood. This video is a fine record of those two magnificent years. The sounds as well as the sights make this film-to-video a real collector's piece recording Hailwood's memorable feats and the last glory days of Norton, Matchless and AJS.
