Motor cycle production ends

The firm of Douglas has a long and chequered history. From uncertain beginnings at the turn of the century, the company managed to survive to the present day, though it has not made motor cycles for many years. No marque was more ubiquitours. Where motor cycles were to be found, there you would find Douglas. The rose to inevitable peaks and yet staggered repeatedly on the edge os extinction. But the factory which brought motor cycle fame to Brisol demostrated an amazing capacity for survival, producing an enormous number of machines of all kinds, some of which are still considered as classics in their own right. Now the enthraling story is told in a lively and readable fashion and accompanied by a wealth of fascinating photographs.
