Le versioni derivate della Fiat 124 in forma di spider (1966) e di coupé (1967) hanno dominato il mercato per un decennio, brillando sempre per eleganza e prestazioni sportive; difatti la versione Abarth ben figurò anche nelle competizioni grazie ad una concezione di sviluppo tecnico-costruttivo ben evidenziata in questo libro. Il volume è completato da un'ampia appendice in cui figurano, fra l'altro, tutti i dati tecnici delle differenti versioni prodotte dal 1966 al 1985 (catalogazione di tutti i modelli prodotti, schede tecniche, dati di produzione e numeri di telaio).
