DONALD J. NARUS
If you need to have just one book in your library on American-built station wagons and woodies, Great American Woodies & Wagons by Donald Narus is it. Without question, its the best and most in-depth book ever published on the subject.
Part of the Crestline book series that was published back in the 1970s and early 80s, Great American Woodies & Wagons is a full-size hardcover book totaling 318 pages, which details all the different wagon models produced from 1900 to 1977.
All the photos are black-and-white, and there are about seven photos per page. Each photo has a paragraph-length caption describing in detail the model shown, which is complemented by a year-by-year chapter introduction highlighting what changes were new for that particular year. The information provided for each car is concise, yet informative. Best of all, careful selection has ensured that practically every single model station wagon is shown.
