The Pontiac GTO was the first musclecar-and many believe it was also the greatest.
In the eleven years that the GTO roamed the streets, it created an aura of affordable preformance. WHen the ax fell at the end of the 1974 model year, Pontiac had built and sold over 500,000 GTOs.
