Microcars enjoyed a period of popularity during the two decades following the cessation of hostilities in 1945. While larger motor manufacturers struggled with the difficulties of resuming production despite the handicap of raw materials shortages, microcars adopted, adapted and exploited the technological advances that had been accelerated by war. Microcars illustrates many of the weird and wonderful makes and models that were produced at this time. Much period archive material is used, to give an informative yet entertaining read. The book caters for the established microcar enthusiast as well as the newcomer to the subject - conveying the reader on a journey back to the halcyon days of such chariots of delight as the Bond Minicar, Heinkel, Messerschmitt and the Frisky.
