Forti della posizione dominante i costruttori restano ancorati sulle proprie produzioni senza effettuare investimenti in attrezzature o nello studio di nuovi modelli. Una scelta conservativa che metterà i vari marchi in difficoltà alla fine degli anni '60 per portare alla chiusura definitiva nei primi anni '70.
