Esattamente cento anni fa, nel 1910, al Portello, alle porte di Milano, nasceva una nuova realtà nell'ancor giovane panorama automobilistico dell'epoca: l'Alfa Romeo. Un nome che in questi cento anni è divenuto quasi sinonimo di automobili, tanto importante è stata la sua presenza sia sul piano industriale, sia su quello sportivo sia infine culturale. In questo lungo lasso di tempo, il celebre marchio italiano ha dato vita a vetture entrate a buon diritto nella storia dell'automobile, non solo italiana (si pensi alla 1900, alla Giulietta o alla Giulia) e, nello stesso tempo, ha saputo scrivere pagine irripetibili di sport, imponendosi in tutte le più importanti competizioni sportive: dalla Mille Miglia a Le Mans, dal Tourist Trophy al Mondiale Sport. Un'epopea sulla quale è stato scritto di tutto; eppure, questo volume curato da una firma autorevole come quella di Maurizio Tabucchi in materia di Alfa vuole però essere un omaggio a questa grande storia, raccontata soprattutto attraverso immagini per lo più inedite, e supportata da brevi testi ma comunque rigorosi ed esaustivi.
