Con l'accordo tra la Ferrari e la Fiat, stupilato nel 1965, si avviò la produzione di soli 500 esemplari necessari alla Casa di Maranello per ottenere l'omologazione sportiva per le corse. Ma lo spider Fiat, disegnata da Pininfarina con motore Dino di 2 litri, era così bello che si decise di continuare la produzione. Poco dopo venne anche presentata la versione coupé disegnata da Nuccio Bertone. L'autore fa un'analisi completa della Dino e delle sue derivate, dalla 206 alla Lancia Stratos, con dettagliate schede tecniche e fotografie originali d'epoca.
